Clinics & Services

Cervical Smears

We encourage all women to have a cervical smear: for women between 25-50 this should be every three years and for women between 50-65 every five years (or more frequently if indicated). This can be done here at the surgery, by either your doctor or a practice nurse.

Child Health Checks

  • Child development examinations - all children are seen at 6 weeks for a child development exam. These can be pre booked. Please bring the red child development book.
  • Immunisations - the practice nurse will give childhood immunisations by appointment in normal surgery hours.
  • Health Visitors - the health visitors run well baby clinics and clinic for the under fives, details are available from the Health Visitors Team on 267598.

Counsellor Service

We have access to counselling though the surgery. Please discuss this with your doctor. We do not refer directly to the counsellors but via a central referral assessment team who decide where and when counselling is offered. This is often based at the surgery.

Adult and holiday immunisations are performed by the practice nurses by appointment. If you are intending to go abroad it is advisable to make an appointment to see the nurse two to three months in advance to discuss the requirements. The nurse stocks a full range of holiday vaccinations and will give you all the necessary information. Some vaccinations require a fee.

Childhood immunisations and immunisations for older children are provided by appointment with the practice nurse.
